Mine Design and Scheduling Solution

An integrated design-planning solution for the generation of open pit designs, planning outlines and extraction sequences in a managed environment. Optionally utilizes an optimized block model from NPV Scheduler or Whittle to guide the design process and provides a 2-way interface to the Production Scheduler (EPS).

Open Pit String Design Within the Mine2-4D Framework.

  • Import an optimized block model (NPV Scheduler or Whittle)
  • Design a pit with consideration for roads, berm widths, face angles
  • Automatically alters the designs to create fixed cross-sections, outlines and complex solids
  • Connect the design through Mine2-4D Design Definitions and follow the normal Mine2-4D processes

Block Model Preparation & Design Setup

  • Create outline strings for design parameters such as block values and pushback phase
  • Interactively color the block model by different legends
  • Slice the block model on bench elevation intervals
  • Smooth the outline of the block model via trace methods.

Projection Parameters

  • Fixed, Variable, or Model input
  • Multiple Bench Angles
  • Ability to Taper the inside and outside of Berms

Interactive Pit Expansion

  • Dialogs use a workflow layout to guide the user and reduce learning time.
  • Interactive dialog for the design of Dumps and Pits with Top-Down or Bottom-Up Designs.
  • Base string used to quickly create roads, berms etc.

Grid and Pit Preparation

  • Generate closed string 2-D rectangular grids on any azimuth in order to slice the designs for mine sequencing.
  • Convert Pit Designs into the Mine2-4D Framework using rules for:
    • Ramps => Complex Solids (CXS)
    • Trims => Fixed Cross Sections (FXS)
    • All Other Design Strings => Outlines
  • Dependencies between design elements may be set up automatically and can be manually edited to ensure the mining sequence is always practical

3D Animation shows the Sequenced Design Solids using a Schedule to control the time sequence for:

  • Sequence and Schedule validation
  • Presentation purposes

Get Quick Access to Haulage information with the Haulage Analyzer:

  • Quickly retrieve Haulage data for export into spreadsheet formats.
  • Ability to set numerous nodes in a network
  • Query distances and cycle times based on user defined:
    • Rolling resistances
    • Maneuvering and dump times
    • Acceleration durations
  • Rolling Resistance and Load Cycle times are easily set up and reported on.
  • All information is reportable in spreadsheet format.
