Datamine MineTrust

Data Integrity and Process Integrity are at the heart of good mine planning practice and appropriate corporate governance. The Datamine MineTrust Framework represents a suite of clever business functions that are designed to work within a mixed technology and user environment. This allows you to manage and deliver the correct and latest version of data to the right people at the right time.

Traditionally, mining packages have been single-user workstation systems.  They have enabled mining professionals to model ore bodies and design mines effectively, but they fell short when it came to enabling multi-user collaboration.  The main drawback was the inability to share the data without creating confusion, duplication and corruption.

The Datamine MineTrust Framework provides data governance for multiple users with a proprietary “Role Control” access system. It allows spatial searching, data sharing, check-in/check-out of data and it has a unique publishing portal for each group within the enterprise.

Exploration can hand the resource model to Geology and Geology can hand the mining model to Planning – all with the complete confidence that there is only one version of the truth!

MineTrust encompasses all business software and data workflow processes, which means that not only can working practices be executed in a much more efficient manner but corporate level analysis can also be performed across a wide range of disciplines, users, departments and functions.

Although fully-integrated within Datamine products, our standalone MineTrust Explorer, MineTrust Activity Manager and MineTrust Team are specifically designed to streamline multi-application and multi-data-format processes regardless of their nature.

Why Use Datamine MineTrust?

Datamine MineTrust resolves the tension that commonly manifests between numerous, disparate instances of corporate data and the requirement to work efficiently, utilizing relevant information at relevant times. Recent statistical analysis shows that, typically, mine sites will use between 40 and 200 separate software applications in day-to-day activities. Each department within the mine represents a data-generation nucleus that can, potentially, produce huge amounts of data. One resource modelling group, for example, when analyzed was found to produce over 12,000 separate data files totalling 90GB of storage requirements every quarter. That's nearly 50,000 files and a quarter of a Terabyte of information annually. From a single department.

Contrary to what you may expect, the vast majority of files of this type are stored on end users' PCs, and not on a central network server. The local copies of these files will normally represent intermediate results within a project. In addition, many of these files are not stored in a common format but a proprietary format that is generally understood only by the parent application, or at best, requiring conversion before importing to other operating environments.

When this situation is further complicated by incomplete, incorrect or non-existent process documentation and a constantly-changing staff base where expert knowledge is often a transitory phase due to inevitable staff turnover, it is clear why transparent, effective and flexible data management plays a vital role in dealing with governance issues.

Datamine MineTrust Products

Datamine MineTrust is a framework; it is the definitive system from which to host applications delivering genuine and significant operational improvement, generating higher revenues from a fixed resource and difficult economic conditions.

  • MineTrust Explorer is the core backbone of functionality that delivers essential business benefits in terms of data control, and MineTrust Activity Manager extends this facility further to allow real-world business processes to be captured and managed by the MineTrust environment, delivering controlled activity inputs and coordinating the processing of each activity, ensuring expected outputs are achieved.
  • MineTrust Activity Manager
A significant part of our business model is based upon the implementation of systems to be routinely used by mining technical staff to assist with the design of their operations.

Whereas MineTrust Explorer functionality provides unparalleled data management and protection for lone users, small teams and corporations alike, MineTrust Activity Manager provides a robust and highly-configurable mechanism for users to define and implement activities representing real workflow systems.

This enables procedures to be carried out by end users consistently, accurately and reliably.

MineTrust Team reaches even further by delivering the "when" aspect of the activities presented by MineTrust Activity Manager. By ensuring the timely delivery of activities to the intended recipients, and ensuring entire working processes are followed in an expected fashion.

In summary, MineTrust Explorer delivers precisely what data is required and ensures all project stakeholders know where to find it. MineTrust Activity Manager ensures data is delivered to users who need it and determine how it is processed. MineTrust Team ensures this all happens precisely when it is supposed to.
