Overview
LIMS has been developed specifically for the mining industry. This easy to use Laboratory Information Management System was designed for on-site labs within an mining company and for small to medium sized commercial labs. This has helped to keep LIMS easy to learn and operate. LIMS has direct integration with the Fusion geological database to receive requests and post results directly back to the initiating geologist.
The LIMS application simplifies the management of assay data in a lab environment. Procedures are established between the lab and the client that dictates the rules to follow on sample requests. These procedures defines the “To Do List” that is generated by LIMS upon receipt of a sample from the client.
LIMS effectively uses Bar Coding to help streamline the management and tracking of assays in a Laboratory environment. The bar code tracking starts in sample preparation and continues through the process to the analyzing equipment. Bar codes can be setup at any time in the process to reprint the bar codes if necessary.
The "Chain of Custody" is tracked from sample preparation through the various processes to the final result. Once the results pass the validation rules, these results are then posted directly to the geological database when the Fusion database is used. For clients that just can’t wait for the final results, such as Grade Control, a preliminary posting of results can occur to allow business decisions to be made on a timely basis.
QA/QC graphs ensure the management in the lab can check their performance and determine quickly if there are any issues that need to be addressed. |
